Ways to Connect was created to bridge that gap—not by duplicating what already exists, but by helping people find the platforms and resources that are already out there.
We don’t host volunteer opportunities ourselves. Instead, we guide individuals to the right volunteer platform for their area—helping them discover opportunities they might not otherwise find. Whether you’re in Asheville, Albuquerque, or anywhere in between, we’ll point you to trusted local resources that connect volunteers with real community needs.

Inspiring Service is a national nonprofit based in Cincinnati, Ohio, dedicated to building stronger communities through innovative, technology-driven solutions that support volunteerism. By lowering barriers to engagement and using data-informed strategies, we equip nonprofits with the tools they need to reach the volunteers who are looking for them. From local guides to national platforms, our work is rooted in one goal: making it easier for people and organizations to come together for good.
Our Approach
We believe Volunteer Connection is the first—and most essential—step in the service journey.
For nearly a decade, we’ve developed local volunteer guides across the country. Along the way, we discovered a common challenge: people want to get involved, but often don’t know where to start—or even realize their community already has a local volunteer resource.
That’s why we launched Ways to Connect —to help individuals find their path to meaningful service, and make it easier for nonprofits to connect with the right volunteers. We believe in the power of local knowledge. Ways to Connect is designed to grow with your input—whether you’re familiar with community-based efforts or know of an under-the-radar organization worth sharing.
